Another over-hyped agenda by people who have a god-complex.

This from someone who has "brand new god" written underneath his avatar.

The earth will always change and always be here. Whether we live or die doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot considering over a long enough timeline, the former isn't even an option.

I love how people that don't like to hear these things always seem to fall short in the areas of concrete facts. The earth has always been in a state of constant change. These changes are what has up until now maintained its homeostasis long enough for mammals to thrive. This homeostasis is now threatened by factors that are both caused by, and addressable by people. A person can either care about this or not. But to pass off dis-information and pseudo-facts just as a way of stating that s/he simply does not care is demeaning to that person.

I don't see an ice age, but it is possible. Over the long run, I see the Mars scenario as being the most likely.

The mars scenario would have to be like centuries down the road for it to come in to play wouldn't it?  Whereas (I believe) the ice age could be a little more eminent ... but hey my basis on this would just bring a whole swarm of skeptics ..

It would bring a swarm of skeptics. Scientific skepticism is good though because it leads to answers and solutions. Political skepticism will only point out the flaws in order to carry on personal political agendas.

Yup but when the scientific skepticism formulates a solution its up to politics to enforce it and put it into action .... since people seem to have lost their own independence and rely ever so much on their government to support them ...

I'm not too sure what your opinion really is. Your post was rather vague. Granted, I used your post as a means to establish a point. The fact that it was you in particular that posted it is merely circumstantial.

I hope something catastrophic happens.
I'm perfectly ready for a cataclysmic even to wipe out nearly every human being on this earth.
Myself included, humanit is a blight on this earth.
I honestly doubt any doomsday looms anytime within our lifetime however.
Why do people fear death so?

Causes and Consequences of Species Extinctions by Navjot S Sodhi et al:

"... there is general agreement that extinction rates have soared over the past few hundred years, largely as a result of accelerated habitat destruction following European colonialism and the subsequent global expansion of the human population..."

"Although extinctions are a normal part of evolution, human modifications to the planet in the last few centuries [...] have greatly accelerated the rate at which extinctions occur. Habitat loss remains the main driver of extinctions, but it may act synergistically with other drivers..."

Patterns of Biodiversity: Rates and Causes of Loss of Diversity by Richard Frankham et al:

Current extinction rates are 10x - 100x higher than pre-human extinction rates.  Causes of current extinction rates are: Human population growth; Habitat loss and fragmentation; Introduced species; overharvest; and, Pollution/global environmental changes.
