So I am very proud to say that I am not true...
Everyone has an other opinion and I think the opinion of these "true" Metal guys cannot be changed.

There are 5 MAIN GENRES OF METAL:

Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Power Metal, i cant think of the last.


Every other type of metal stems off from those. You see, metal isn't included on the music tree because metal in itself is a very large and diverse tree.
Theres hundreds or real metals.
But DeathCore isn't fucking "real".

Saying my opinion... will probably seem like regurgitating Ea's points, who so far has made the most valid points haha.

If you were to look at metal like an art form, And you saw the full potential in each style is being used by certain bands, you would state they are the bands who are Black Metal or Death Metal or whatever else, as the bands who lack musicianship and origionality compared to them, should be on a quiter note.

A certain amount of elitism is needed, In my opinion atleast, to keep the genres pure, Not a retarded amount where I see people trying too hard in other forums (this is why I only come here, hehe). Just to state the facts. Theres already divisions in each genre to who is really embracing each genre to the fullest.

In another view. If you like the music, Say you like the music, You don't have to state them as being "real metal" to like them btw

You know I do not understand why people trip if you tell the truth and say that a band is not metal.  Fuck all the "sub genres" are a waste of time there is metal and then there is not metal plain and simple.  Things like deathmetal, blackmetal, thrashmetal glam metal (hair metal), blah blah blah blah, its just metal. 

Simple Judas Priest = Metal, Death = Metal, Dimmu Borgir = Metal.  People started sub genres because those that are so called shit like "metalcore", "deathcore", NU (LOL) metal are not metal at all and they didnt have the balls to play real metal so they developed away to try to blend it in.  This one riff wonder shit that is out is a joke in my opinion.

Bands like as I lay dying are NOT metal they are hard rock or whatever but not even close to metal.  Your either metal or your not dont try to come up with a so called sub genre because you do not have the balls to play true metal.

Fuck some of the new bands are not that bad for rock bands they are simply just not metal.  And before any says it YES I listen to more than just metal.  But just because I may listen to System of a down because I think John Dolmyan (or however you spell it) is a great drummer doesnt mean I think they are metal, they are not.

Oh and so everyone knows eyeliner and playing in drop d or c doesnt make you metal (LMFAO).  Okay another Ash Remains metal moment LOL.

No one is saying, okay well I am not anyway, again all these bands we say are not metal, most of us are not saying they are not descent bands just that they are not metal.

Hahhah that video is pretty funny.  It was probably made by some douche bag who never 'made it'.  In my opinion, all of these different styles and tastes (regardless of how gay they are) make things interesting.  I'm curious to see where everything is going.
