Science has some really good measuring sticks on how to tell what is scientific. I'm just going to cover three.

A) All theories must be falsifiable. This means that any theory that is worth any merit must be able to be proven wrong. Example ID is not a good theory because no matter how you slice it you can't prove it wrong, on the other hand with evolution there is a chance that in the future it can be proven wrong.

B) Theories must change with new information or data, god is not science because no matter what information is presented no one's going to change the bible to fit that new information, on the other hand if new information is presented with evolution science textbooks, research, and journals change to either support the new information, test it to show its validity, or move to show its falsehood.

C) All constructs must have a valid operational definition. What is a construct? Well a construct is all those non-tangible things you can't take home to mom nicely wrapped in a gift box. Again with evolution you don't test evolution you test its operational definition, for example genetic similarities between species and other evidence of common decent, this allows you to measure evolution and make inferences on causality. How do you measure god? How do you measure his work? What data collected allows us to infer causality?

What christians present is not science because it consistently fails to measure up to not just these standards but all scientific standards, what christians call science is nothing more than philosophy and theology both of which are not science, yes they are logic, but not science, but if it makes you feel any better atheists do the same thing all the time, and their position is also unscientific for the same reasons. Any discussion about god is inherently unscientific, any side be they atheists or christian that brings science into a theological discussion has no true understanding of science.

I don't believe any one has a right to high-jack science and bring it into the discussion of theology cause it just has no place in theological discussion, I'm a firm believer in intellectual honesty, so lets keep science out of this because it's in no way related to the discussion.

Hokay. Basically, think of it in Greek terms: time is not linear, and the basic materials were always there. At some point all the matter and energy was in an extremely dense, superheated, single point (basically a singularity) and you got an exponential progression of fusion reactions and over millions of years shit expanded outwards and the conditions of the known universe were formed. The basic materials have always been there, it's just the shape of the cosmos that's changed.
