There are 14 Characteristics that are supposedly exhibited by serial killers (which includes the "triad"...cruelty to animals, bed-wetting, pyromania). I don't put much faith in this list personally, but would like to see what others think.  Do you feel it is a helpful tool for detectives, in profiling?  Also, perhaps we could see what/if traits any of you have, if you dare post..... muahahahhaha!!! LOL

8. They are commonly abused as children r12; psychologically, physically and sexually. Often the abuse is by a family member.

I'm female

Not sure what I would test at for IQ level.

I didn't do that great in school, but I have no problem with holding down a job.

Yes, this is so true of me and my family.

My father did leave, but my mom always had some man around that pretty much controlled things.

6. Their families often have criminal, psychiatric and alcoholic histories.
Yep.  In fact, my mom's brother was just arrested (yet again), this time for robbing two banks.  He's also and alcoholic, and my mom was on drugs for a while.  My grandmother (mom's side) is a paranoid schizophrenic, I think my uncle may be...he's def has Antisocial Personality Disorder (the medical term, not layman's definition), and my mom has Bipolar and I have Borderline Personality Disorder with Antisocial traits. 


7. They hate their fathers and mothers.
Don't hate my father...never knew him.  Don't hate my mom, but there is some deep resentment.

8. They are commonly abused as children; psychologically, physically and sexually. Often the abuse is by a family member.
Yep...psychological and sexual. 

9. Many serial killers spend time in institutions as children and have records of early psychiatric problems.
Nope....surprisingly enough.  I probably should have tho.

10. They have high rates of suicide attempts.
Never really attempted it...but have thought about it

Yes...also had an interest in death/murder at an early age as well...as young as five at least.

Nope.

Nope...actually I don't even like starting a campfire.. a slight phobia

I qualify.

Junior high, I scored a 221.3, but I cannot use my full potential due to my psychological issues

I almost flunked out of school, so I was placed in programs that helped me graduate, most of my jobs are short term, my current job I work in Home Improvement. But as a general laborer.

Most of my mothers side has had some sort of psychiatric treatment.

My mother is a "By the Bible" Christian.

6. Their families often have criminal, psychiatric and alcoholic histories.
My family has all three problems.

I do not hate either.

The only abuse I endured was when I was insolent.

At the age of 14, I was admitted to a psychiatric ward for 3-4 months. I was treated for: Type 3 Manic-Depression, schizophrenia with a severe case of MPD(10 or more so called identities), ADHD, homicidal tendencies, sado-masochistic tendencies,and Class 3 suicide attempts.

10. They have high rates of suicide attempts.
I've managed to kill myself a few times. But unfortunately I was brought back.

I prefer voyeurism most of all.

I'm male, have a high IQ (around 190 at the age of 12), did poorly in school/ have job problems, my mother's a bitch while my dad's always gone, everyone is alcoholic, suicide attempts, and I like hurting other people for lulz (not small animals).
